Genesis. Artificial Intelligence, Hope and the Soul of Humanity

In his last book, the late Henry Kissinger joins forces with two leading IT engineers and entrepreneurs, Craig Mundie and Eric Schmidt, to conduct a "deep exploration" of the epochal challenges and opportunities associated with the revolution in artificial intelligence: a breakthrough that significantly expands human capabilities in all areas of life and raises pressing questions about the future of humanity. By absorbing data, gaining autonomy, and acting as an intermediary between people and reality, AI will help us tackle enormous crises, from climate change to geopolitical conflicts and income inequality.

It may well unveil some of the greatest mysteries of our universe and elevate the human spirit to unimaginable heights. 

But it will also pose problems of a scale and intensity that we have never seen—usurping our ability to make independent judgments and actions, testing our relationship with the divine, and perhaps even marking the beginning of a new stage in human evolution.
