Guide to the Teachings of the Buddha

The book "Guide to the Teachings of the Buddha" contains the quintessence of the most essential and important teachings on Dhamma by the famous Burmese teacher Maha Thera Lady Sayadaw. The Venerable Lady Sayadaw, known as one of the most outstanding Buddhist teachers of his time, left a great spiritual legacy that serves as a support for both Asian and Western followers of the Buddha.
"Guide to the Teachings of the Buddha" is a compilation of a number of works and teachings of Lady Sayadaw, given at different times and for different audiences. The main goal of the book, according to Sayadaw himself, is to provide detailed instructions for achieving the Path and the fruit of entering the stream, which means becoming a noble person capable of directly contemplating Nibbana. Upon reaching this stage, the practitioner will no longer be able to go astray and will be completely protected from unfortunate rebirths.
Among the main topics addressed in the "Guide to the Teachings of the Buddha" are kamma and its principle of operation, the twelvefold chain of dependent origination, the Four Noble Truths, the three characteristics of existence, the analysis of elements and the factors of Awakening. Special attention is given in the book to the doctrine of non-self (anatta), or emptiness of "self" and "mine," which is a central idea in Dhamma.
