Prospects of Satipatthana

This book is dedicated to the exploration of various aspects of mindfulness meditation, serving as a continuation of the previously published monograph by Analayo Bhikkhu "The Direct Path to Realization: Fundamentals of Mindfulness" in Russia. In his new research, the author relies on excerpts from the Satipatthana Sutta, which is part of the Majjhimanikaya of the Theravada Pali Canon, as well as the Madhyama Agama and the Ekottarika Agama, preserved in Chinese translation. By comparing various canonical texts dedicated to Satipatthana, Analayo identified meditative practices that are common to all of them, as well as those that are discussed only in specific treatises. Of particular interest to readers is the in-depth analysis conducted by the author on such important topics as the five hindrances, ways to overcome them, and the seven factors of awakening. . .
