Folk Medicine of Belarus, Little Russia, and European Turkey. Reader

This edition includes articles on the folk medicine of the populations of Belarus and Little Russia, which were part of the Russian Empire in the 19th century. The inhabitants of these regions historically belonged to three branches of the all-Russian... people (Russians, Belarusians, and Ukrainians), also referred to as northern Slavs. For comparison, this Reader also contains information about European Turkey, which predominantly occupied the territory of the Balkan Peninsula inhabited by southern Slavs in the 19th century. Their medical culture is significantly different from the northern one, as it was formed under the influence of traditions from various times and peoples, particularly the Greeks, Romans, and Turks.
At the end of the volume, illustrations are attached - paintings by artists dedicated to healers, as well as photographs from the 19th to early 20th centuries taken from open sources.
