This book is dedicated to the life and teachings of the Master of Tibetan Buddhism Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen (1292–1361). Known as the Buddha from Dolpo, he was one of the outstanding and extraordinary thinkers in Tibetan history and the greatest... expert on the Kalachakra Tantra, articulating the view of the emptiness-of-other (in Tibetan — zhetong).

It discusses the unique dharmic terminology of Dolpopa, the people and texts that influenced the development of his genius yet often ambiguous theories. It explores the fate of his tradition, which was censored by the Tibetan government in the 17th century. Additionally, it provides information about several of the most prominent followers of the zhetong doctrine.

Also included are translations of important works by Dolpopa. One of his earliest texts — “A General Overview of the Teachings”, in which he presents his systematic view of the entire Buddhist path to Enlightenment. And “The Fourth Council”, written by him at the end of his life, can be considered a summation of his ideas and a kind of conclusion.
