Stormbergs

«Stormbergs» — the concluding part of the trilogy about the town of Stenträsk in Norrbotten in the far north of Sweden by the renowned Swedish author Liza Marklund. This is an epic family chronicle, centered on the story of the local police chief Viking Stormberg and his loved ones. The local nature, river, and the Stormberget mountain also play a significant role in the narrative. Marklund writes about passion and family secrets, about violence and coercion, and, of course, about love and the thirst for life. «Stormbergs» is an independent continuation of the detective novels «The Arctic Circle» and «The Swamp» (Russian translation 2022, 2024).
Liza Marklund (b. 1962) is often referred to as the queen of Swedish detective fiction. Her debut novel «The Demolition Expert» (1998) achieved colossal success and received several literary awards. The series of detective novels about journalist Annika Bengtzon, according to critics, forever changed the traditions of the genre, which had been dominated by men. In 2010, Liza Marklund co-authored the novel «Killers by Postcard» with American writer James Patterson and became the second Swedish author, after Stieg Larsson, whose work topped the «New York Times» bestseller list. During the pandemic, the writer, whose childhood and youth were spent in the far north of Sweden, turned to her roots. The events of her new trilogy take place against the backdrop of the harsh and majestic northern nature, in the small town of Stenträsk.
