Pies with a Taste of Crime

In the small town of Willow-Brook, known for its annual culinary festival, the local bakery "Sweet Dreams" is preparing for the best pastry competition. But the holiday is overshadowed by a terrible event - someone attempted to kill culinary critic Glenn Rafferty, a notorious hater of all pastries, especially blackberry tarts, which are masterfully made by the bakery's owner. Good-natured and a bit clumsy Mary finds herself at the center of the investigation - after all, a villain stuffed a blackberry tart into the mouth of the unconscious critic! Mary must unravel the mystery of the attempted murder to clear her name and save her beloved shop. With the help of her friends, including a grumpy but loyal pet cat named Muffin and a neighbor, a passionate lover of detective stories, Mary begins to untangle a web of intrigue, finding not only recipes but also possible suspects on every page of the cookbooks.
