The Island's Promise

Aleksis, an emergency doctor who has worked in hot spots for eight years, returns home to Brittany after being wounded. He is physically exhausted and mentally drained, constantly haunted by memories of the unfortunate victims of wars whom he, despite... all his selflessness, could not help. At a friend's request, he goes to Grua Island to temporarily replace the local doctor, who is in need of urgent surgery. In this paradise, where people live simple, measured lives, he meets Olivia and her little daughter. Olivia practices therapeutic massage and initially meets Aleksis with hostility—he seems arrogant and unsociable to her. But Olivia herself, having experienced a love drama, is in no hurry to let anyone into her life. The one thing that unites her and Aleksis is that they find it easier to help others than to think about how to help themselves. But then the island of Grua intervenes with its breathtaking nature and its charming, albeit sometimes quirky inhabitants…
