Sentimental Novel

1920s. A southern town boiling with turbulent events. Here lives a young journalist Shurka Sevastyanov. He lives greedily, hungrily, not knowing fatigue or compromise.
To be «sentimental» for Shurka and his Komsomol friends is bourgeoisness and banality. They consider her dreams of lacquered shoes, silk stockings, and lace lingerie to be banality. Sevastyanov is convinced that love does not exist. Even if it does, it is a sure sign of bourgeoisness, so he decides to devote himself to fighting this feeling.
But what, in Shurka Sevastyanov's opinion, does not exist will soon burst into his life as a catastrophe and a natural disaster.
