Russians on Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is not only a picturesque corner of Europe with clear water and the majestic mountains surrounding it, but also a place rich in history. For centuries, this region has been home to representatives of different nationalities and cultures,... including Russian writers, artists, and musicians.
On the shores of Lake Geneva, Tchaikovsky wrote his famous violin concert, while Scriabin finished work on "The Divine Poem." Here, Gogol worked on "Dead Souls," and Dostoevsky on the novel "The Idiot."
But it was not only cultural figures who were attracted to Lake Geneva with its scenic landscapes. Herzen, Plekhanov, and Lenin lived here for years, Vera Zasulich and Gapon came here, the editorial office of the newspaper "Iskra" was based here, and the overthrow of the monarchy in Russia was prepared here.
