Lev Nikolaevich Gumilev (1912-1992) - an outstanding Russian historian, ethnologist and geographer, poet and translator from Persian, founder of the theory of passionarity, developer of an original concept of ethnogenesis and a proponent of the Eurasian idea.

The book by L.N. Gumilev is a study of the lesser-known pages of the history of numerous ethnic groups - the Huns, Turkots, Uighurs, Khazars, Kipchaks, Polovtsians and others, who succeeded each other in the expanses around the Caspian from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD.

This monograph is an attempt to synthesize history, ethnology, and geography, created at the intersection of the humanities and natural sciences.
