Ash and Blood

The middle of the 1st century AD. The throne of the Bosporan Kingdom is occupied by a new ruler - the young, energetic Kotis. He is full of plans to strengthen and restructure his state, but his power is still weak and largely depends on the swords of the mighty Rome. It is also restless at the Asian borders of the kingdom: the former ruler of Bosporus, Mithridates, has not come to terms with the loss of the throne and, having secured the support of one of the Sarmatian kings, is gathering a new army. The fragile short peace is about to collapse, and the Bosporan land will once again be stained with blood. This novel is the second and final book about the Roman-Bosporan War of 45-49 AD. The first book, "On the Edge of the Sword", was previously published in this series.
