In the new expansion "Ancient Horror: Masks of Nyarlathotep," players once again become fearless investigators and traverse the globe to prevent the catastrophic rise of Ancient forces. Strange cults appear in the most remote corners of the world and in bustling populated megacities. And although they worship different deities, the investigators have managed to uncover a thread that unites all the terrifying rituals of the cultists...

All sects pursue one goal – the awakening of Nyarlathotep, also known as the Messenger of the Outer Gods and the embodiment of chaos. He is the only Ancient who still resides among humans, as he possesses numerous masks. The investigators must stop the spread of cults that serve different forms of Nyarlathotep before he gains enough strength to open the Last Gate, through which indescribable horror will pour into our world.

Meet seven brave detectives and two new Ancients: Nyarlathotep and the Unremembered
New mechanics of personal stories and personal quests – additional narrative lines related to the game's characters
A total of fourteen Prelude cards that will make your games even more unique
Adventure cards describe four separate stories closely related to Nyarlathotep and dedicated to various cults: the Brotherhood of the Dark Pharaoh, the Cult of the Bloody Tongue, etc.
Contacts in mysterious ruins allow players to explore ruins of ancient civilizations
New mechanics and tokens of collectiveness that will help you re-roll dice during checks 
A new type of action "Resource Gathering", performed in any location. The player receives a resource token that can later be used to restore health and sanity, as well as serve as an additional "success" in a roll
New spell cards, ancient artifacts, unique assets, and contacts
Now you can adjust the game's difficulty and even make it progressively increasing. The game also offers an option for "Insane Difficulty" and a mode called "Master of Fate"
Optional campaign mode for the most experienced players, where you need to win six games in a row under special rules – with two prelude cards, with personal stories, etc.
About "Ancient Horror"

"Ancient Horror" is a cooperative game for 1-8 players. Each player chooses one of the twelve (in the base version) investigators, who differ in health, sanity, as well as five skills: knowledge, communication, attention, strength, and will. Traveling around the world, investigators solve puzzles, fall into traps, conduct investigations, and fight monsters. Throughout the game, players will acquire various useful items, find allies, artifacts, and spells, and accumulate specific knowledge to ultimately triumph over the ancient evil.

Each round of the game consists of three phases:

1. Action Phase, in which players move around the game board, purchase necessary items, allies, and various services, as well as tickets for ships and trains for faster travel around the world
   2. Contact Phase – in this phase, players engage in one of three contacts: combat, location, or contact with a token. Most often, a certain type of contact draws a card describing events, either positive or negative
   3. Myth Phase – in this phase, the lead player draws a Myth card and plays the effects of this card in a specified order. Each effect influences your game in its own way

All players win or lose together. To win, the group of investigators must solve three riddles that are unique to each Ancient. However, if the despair token reaches zero, the Ancient Evil awakens, and the investigators must confront it in open opposition. If players fail to defeat it, darkness envelops the world, and all of humanity loses.
