Everything in Smoke, Murderers Not Visible

In 1605, the Gunpowder Plot against the king and parliament failed, and since then, Bonfire Night has been celebrated annually in the United Kingdom on November 5th. The celebration takes on a special scale in the town of Lewis, where on this night they also honor the memory of seventeen Protestant martyrs who were burned in 1555–1557.
This year, Bonfire Night in Lewis would have been a great success if it hadn't been ruined by a corpse.

Before the eyes of thousands of participants in the torch-lit procession, a real human skull rolled out from the head of a burnt effigy of Donald Trump.
No one knows how the remains of a council member ended up inside the effigy. Rumors are spreading throughout the town.

The main suspect, wishing to restore his good name, seeks help from police officer Tess Fox. She has a sister, Sarah Jacobs, a con artist by nature, gifted with the talent for solving crimes. This extraordinary duo has already shone in the novel "Ace, Queen, Death," and now they face a new investigation.
