The Scarlet Flower. Childhood Years of Bogrov's Grandson

«The Scarlet Flower» — one of the most famous fairy tales in Russian literature, it has been adapted multiple times for the stage and has been filmed.  For the first time, «The Scarlet Flower» was published in 1858 as an appendix to the memoirs «Childhood Years of Bogrov's Grandson», which are also included in this edition. «Childhood Years of Bogrov's Grandson» — the second part of the trilogy — has characteristics of an educational novel. In it, the author narrates his own childhood, making the central theme of the book — the formation of the child's soul. According to Sergei Aksakov himself, this work held a special place in his creative output: «I have a cherished thought that has occupied me day and night for a long time...
