Demons

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821–1881) — Russian writer, publicist, classic of world literature, one of the most famous and widely read Russian authors abroad. He had a colossal influence on world culture and philosophy.
The novel "Demons," published in 1871–1872, is the third novel of Dostoevsky's "great five-book series."
The novel describes the loss of connection between generations, the clash of eras. With his novel, Dostoevsky intended to demonstrate the decay to which youth is subjected and to condemn the radical manifestations of political and moral nihilism that prevailed in Russia at that time. All the characters in the novel are possessed by demons, and Dostoevsky considers the spiritual decline of the Russian people to be the main demon.
