This book includes the most famous early works of Gorky — the drama "At the Bottom", which continues to be performed on the best theater stages in the world and has been adapted for film several times, the prose poems "Song of the Falcon" and "Song of the Storm Petrel", the stories "Chelykash", "Old Woman Izergil", and, of course, Gorky's masterpiece of romantic prose "Makhar Chudra", which served as the basis for the screenplay of the cult film "The Tabor Goes to Heaven", beloved by many generations of viewers.
