Betrayal of Trust

In his apartment, a certain Andrei Burtsov is found strangled. The room is in disarray - the killer was clearly searching for something. The deceased's parents and neighbors are convinced: Andrei had no enemies or envious people who could have done such a thing... Police colonels Gurov and Kryachko establish that Burtsov was secretly running fraudulent schemes and had a reputation among his accomplices as a greedy and unscrupulous partner. However, Burtsov's accomplices all categorically deny their involvement in the crime. So who killed the quiet crook? The detectives do not yet realize that the answer to this question is literally looming right in front of them…
