The Divine Comedy. In Three Books

Dante, the most educated man of his time, reflected in his "Divine Comedy" the ideas about the world, knowledge, and culture of the Middle Ages in all their fullness. He brilliantly combined in his creation the traditional genre of "journeys" to the afterlife and an innovative reflection of modernity. Dante's poetic thought encompasses the entire universe. And in this universe, the author boldly restores justice, delivers judgment on sinners, expresses attitudes toward politics, philosophy, and science, and also speaks of his own difficult fate.
