The Sorcerer's Apprentice: A Tale.

Sofia Leonidovna Prokofyeva was born in Moscow in 1928. The girl loved books from an early age and read a lot; she especially liked the fairy tales of H.C. Andersen and the tales of P.P. Bazhov. Sofia wrote poetry (which... was later highly praised by Boris Pasternak) and was a good artist. Her father was an artist. Accidentally seeing sketches that his daughter made on scraps of paper, he noticed the girl's talent and seriously took up her education. Three years later, Sofia entered the graphic arts faculty of the Moscow State Academy of Arts, where she graduated and began working as an illustrator.
However, literature attracted her more and more. When she had a son, Sofia Leonidovna began writing fairy tales for children: first for toddlers, and then for older kids. She wrote more than 30 books, and each of her stories is full of wonders, happy coincidences, and extraordinary encounters - but it always turns out that for victory and happiness, magic is not enough: honesty, friendship, and loyalty are also needed. No magical pills or miraculous abilities can help a person if they are greedy, evil, or insincere.
Young readers immediately fell in love with the fairy tales of Sofia Leonidovna. Several animated films (including the cartoon "The Sorcerer's Apprentice") and feature films were made based on her scripts, and the film adaptation of the novella "The Adventures of the Yellow Suitcase" received prestigious international awards. The fairy tales of Sofia Leonidovna Prokofyeva have been translated into 20 languages, and children all over the world read them with interest and pleasure: after all, friendship, sincerity, and decency are things that do not depend on the country where you live or the language you speak.
One of the heroes of the fairy tale "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is an ordinary schoolboy: he dreams of adventures, sometimes enjoys boasting, makes mistakes - and is not afraid to correct them. Another hero is a true sorcerer; while the third is Vasya the cat, who once learned a powerful spell. Because of this spell, predators disappeared from the zoo, a genie turned into a mouse, alarm was declared in the city, and the sorcerer Alyosha almost quarreled with his friends. Fortunately, true friendship, courage, and responsibility are stronger than any spells, and so this extraordinary story had a happy ending.
