The new, third book by Eduard Kocherzhin, the chief artist of the G.A. Tovstonogov Academic Bolshoi Drama Theater, is dedicated to theatrical life, actors, directors, artists, and stage workers - outstanding professionals whom the author has had the opportunity to... meet and work with. Talent, loyalty to their craft - this is what primarily attracts the author's attention, so he describes both celebrities and unnoticed workers of the theater with equal interest. In addition to stories, the book includes the novella "Copper Goga" - about the legendary director Georgy Tovstonogov, with whom Kocherzhin worked for more than twenty years.
The first book by Kocherzhin, "Angel's Doll," became a sensation in literary life immediately after its publication in 2003. Its author was talked about as one of the best masters of contemporary prose, and he was awarded the Tsarskoye Selo Artistic Prize. In 2010, Kocherzhin became the owner of the prestigious literary award "National Bestseller" (for the book "Baptized with Crosses"), and in 2011, he received the Literature Award named after Sergey Dovlatov "For Achievements in Contemporary Russian Prose."
