An engaging account of the lives and collecting endeavors of the Tretyakov Brothers and the history of their family is illustrated with rare archival photographs and documents. The author, Tatyana Yudenkova, is a curator and art historian, biographer of the Tretyakovs, and head of the department of painting from the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century at the State Tretyakov Gallery. In this edition, the famous collections of Pavel and Sergey Tretyakov are not only compiled but also illustrated for the first time.
