Myth and its Metamorphoses in Russian Literature of the 20th - Early 21st Century

The monograph identifies and examines elements of mythical perception of the world in the most prominent representatives of Russian symbolism (A. Bely, Vyach. Ivanov), as well as the poet and writer of the post-symbolist era D. Andreev. It analyzes the... depth of their creative thought's immersion in the mythical integrity of existence, which affects the specificity of neomythologism. The late work of D. Andreev demonstrates the experience of the transgression of artistic literature into the newest myth. The last chapter of the monograph is devoted to the receptions of D. Andreev's ideas and myth-formation in the works of Russian writers of the late 20th - early 21st century.
