Myth and its Metamorphoses in Russian Literature of the 20th - Early 21st Century

The monograph reveals and examines elements of mythic perception of the world among the most prominent representatives of Russian symbolism (A. Bely, Vyacheslav Ivanov), as well as the poet and writer of the post-symbolist era D. Andreev. The depth of immersion of their creative thought into the mythic wholeness of being is analyzed, which affects the specificity of neomythologism. The late works of D. Andreev demonstrate the experience of the transgression of artistic literature into the newest myth. The last chapter of the monograph is dedicated to the receptions of the ideas and myth-making of D. Andreev in the works of Russian writers of the late 20th - early 21st century.
