#SundayDog is a reason to talk about Picasso and Matisse, Gertrude Stein and Yves Saint Laurent, Vermeer and Pollock, about how patrons and businessmen create the largest museums in the world, about auctions, fairs, and trades from New York to Paris, about one of the first feminist artists Rosa Bonheur, about the everyday life of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the New York Metropolitan Museum, about billionaire Paul Getty, the TEFAF fair, the largest concentration of private jets in small Maastricht, and even about the hero of French comics Tintin.
The external design of the publication uses the aesthetics of Facebook’s newsfeed — it all started with Sunday posts featuring wonderful dogs in paintings… This project is a very personal yet professional story. Personal — because it was born out of love, unconditional love of the author for the dog Dunya, a loyal friend and family member. Professional — because the author of the book lived and worked in Paris for many years and returned to Moscow with extremely rare perspectives on the world and the art market, the ability to see behind the great — the person, not only the artist, but above all a personality: a mover and visionary, a collector and philanthropist, a museum director and curator.
