Tales of the Peoples of Africa

Nikolai Albertovich Kun (1877–1940) — writer and historian, author of the popular book "Legends and Myths of Ancient Greece." Equally interesting is the collection "Tales of the Peoples of Africa." It contains stories of the Khoikhoi, Zulus, Bechuanas, Ovaherero, Somalis,... and other ethnic groups of Africa. The tales speak of monsters and sorcerers, cannibals and animals, of wonderful adventures. Africans seek answers to questions: how the world was created, where diseases came from, why the jackal has a striped back?.. In addition to the tales, Nikolai Kun provides a detailed description of each tribe, explaining the peculiarities of its way of life. The edition is complemented by black-and-white illustrations and photographs.
