In the shop "Folk Crafts" in the village of Sokolskoe, a wealthy lady was found strangled. She frequently visited the village, generously donated to the restoration of the bell tower and was held in high regard. The criminal - a drunken vagabond who wandered nearby - was arrested in hot pursuit... Professor Ilya Subbotin arrives in the village to uncover the truth. The physics teacher has a strange hobby - he solves crimes. All hope is placed on him, for no one else will dig deeper, the case is closed.
