Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin (1895-1925) — a great Russian poet and one of the most important representatives of the Silver Age lyric poetry. At the beginning of his creative career, he considered himself part of the neopeasantry poetry movement and was... called the singer of peasant Russia, while in a later period he began to write in the spirit of imagism. His poems combine themes of beloved rural life and nature, but also of the homeland during the unfolding revolution, intertwined with Christian motifs and biblical images. The first volume of the collected works includes poems that Yesenin himself did not include in the main collected works. The second volume includes poems that the author referred to as "small poems," as well as longer poems and prose.
