Fourteen-year-old Nick narrowly escaped death at the hands of drug dealers in one of Brooklyn's parks, but Peter came to his rescue. Oh, that Peter! He is quick, brave, extremely mischievous, and like all boys, loves to play, although his games often end in bloodshed. His eyes shine with gold; the moment he smiles at you, you become his lifelong friend. He comes to lonely lost children — broken, desperate, subjected to violence — promising to take them to a secret place where extraordinary adventures await them, where magic is alive, and where they will never grow up.
