In Khemda, a coup has taken place. Tintin and Captain Haddock are flying there to help the rightful ruler Emir Ben Kalish Ezab to regain power. However, their arrival is already known: at the Wad-ed-Dahra airport, our heroes are put... on a plane and sent back. Soon after takeoff, an engine catches fire on board, but the pilot still manages to land on the shores of the Red Sea. To top it all off, an explosion occurs in the abandoned plane!
