Mayakovsky the playwright is no less known than Mayakovsky the poet; his plays were staged numerous times during his lifetime. The revolutionary upheaval in the theater of Vsevolod Meyerhold cannot be imagined without productions of "The Bathhouse," "The Bedbug," and... others. Even now, these plays, despite being written in the early last century, prove to be complex and ambiguous, which makes them a peculiar challenge for directors, and performances based on them are true events.
