The Storehouse of the Sun

Mikhail Mikhailovich Prishvin (1873–1954) entered the history of Russian literature as the "singer of nature." His works have been familiar to us since childhood, but their amazing purity and wisdom attract readers of all ages. Prishvin not only enriched Russian literature with profound descriptions of Russian nature, which he loved with all his heart, but also helped his readers to see in the familiar and ordinary the great mystery of the Universe, to feel the unity of all living things on earth. At the heart of his works lies a deep, genuinely Christian idea of "harmonizing the creativity of human consciousness with the creativity of being." This edition includes such well-known works by M. M. Prishvin as "The Fox's Bread," "The Golden Meadow," "Forest Drop," "Seasons," as well as the famous tale "The Storehouse of the Sun," which the author wrote "for the child living within us from early childhood to old age."
