The set includes "The Boy and the Dog" and "Anzu the Ghost Cat." "The Boy and the Dog." The dog Tamon, who lost his owner during a terrible earthquake, embarks on a long journey across Japan in search of the boy who once played with him in the park. Along the way, he meets various people: a guy who got involved with criminals for his sick mother, a foreign robber, a deceived prostitute, an old hunter dying of cancer, and finally, the very boy who stopped talking and smiling after the earthquake… Each of them suffers in their own way, but after meeting Tamon, each of their lives becomes easier and happier. The manga is based on the novel "The Boy and the Dog" by Seishu Hase. "Anzu the Ghost Cat." Anzu the cat, who lives in the Sosei Buddhist temple, has lived so long that he has quietly become a ghost cat, having already celebrated his 32nd birthday. The modern fairy tale penned by the recognized master Takashi Imashiro narrates the unhurried and somewhat strange life of Anzu, who at times has much more humanity than the people themselves. In 2024, the manga received a film adaptation of the same name. "Anzu the Ghost Cat is not quite the ghost in the usual sense, as he did not actually return from the dead but simply did not die, even when he reached an advanced age for cats. Instead, he became a bakemono, one of the yokai—this term describes various Japanese supernatural beings, including ghosts." Anastasia Dyomina, translator "An interesting concept. A funny story about a Japanese Garfield. I enjoyed working on this piece, where the author (director) mixed the simple and mundane with the world of spirits and fantasy." Alexander Skidanov, actor, voice of Anzu the cat in the anime adaptation.
