December 1902. In his own home in Khamovniki, the wife and eldest daughter of a famous Austrian brewer are brutally murdered. The youngest daughter, who was wounded, was rushed to the hospital. Police suspicion falls on the man who first discovered the bodies and possibly knew about the cash banknotes hidden in the secret stash that had disappeared.
