Widower Reiti Miyamoto, an ordinary mid-level employee, suddenly marries Akiko Iwaki, a successful career woman. His little daughter Miyuki, still longing for her deceased mother, receives the appearance of a stepmother in the house with hostility. Akiko does her best... to become a caring mother and manage the household, but for a former career woman who dedicated herself to work for a long time and therefore does not know sometimes even the most basic things, this leads to an endless series of comical situations. Gradually, the ice in the relationship between the stepmother and daughter melts, but Miyuki starts to ask herself: why did dad and Akiko get married and why do they behave differently from other married couples?
