Hurricane

Shahriyar, a recent graduate student and father of nine-year-old Anna, must leave the USA and return to Bangladesh when his visa expires. In the last weeks spent together, the father tells his daughter the story of his country, intertwining it... with family legends. Before the girl's eyes, images come to life: the tragedy of a fishing village on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, swept off the face of the earth by a hurricane of terrifying strength… the fate of a Japanese pilot whose plane was shot down in those parts during World War II… and the despair of a couple from Kolkata who had to flee to East Pakistan after the partition of India, leaving everything behind… Life sometimes resembles a hurricane, a mad whirlwind that spins human destinies — only love, family, and concern for the future of children can help survive it.
