Meguri comes from a rather poor and large family living in cramped conditions. Therefore, she has always dreamed of breaking free from this life and finding a new place she can call home. And then Meguri meets Shingen, the monk heir of one of the Buddhist temples in Japan, whose parents have long been wanting to find him a wife. Fate itself brings them together, and after some time they celebrate their wedding. But a tragic event turns everything upside down.
