Meguri comes from a rather poor and large family living in cramped conditions. Therefore, she has always dreamed of breaking free from this life and finding a new place to call home. And then Meguri meets Shingen, the monk heir of one of the Buddhist temples in Japan, whose parents have long wished to find him a wife. Fate itself brings them together, and after some time they celebrate their wedding. But a tragic incident turns everything upside down.
