Thirteen years of tenuous peace between the Russian and Ottoman empires are coming to an end. The contradictions between them are too great and cannot be resolved peacefully any longer. War is imminent! What will serve as the trigger after which great blood will be shed? The special company of Egorov has been expanded to a battalion and stands on the very front line of defense. They are called green devils and wolfhounds. It is they, the Russian rangers, who will have to be the first to engage in battle with the janissaries.
