About the game

"Legends of the Gangster City" is a cooperative tabletop game based on classic stories about gangsters of the last century. 6 atmospheric scenarios, each with different mechanics and tasks, will make you feel like a true member of the mafia. You will rob a bank, participate in a car chase, launder money in a casino, and much more. But all of this is just small bricks that you will climb on until you reach true power, taking the mayor's chair. And to achieve this goal, you need to successfully complete 3 scenarios.

How to play?

The scenarios have special instructions, so preparation for the game will vary slightly from game to game. This is quite logical: gangsters hardly followed the same plan when preparing for different jobs. On the table are the scenario board, clan and problem card decks, dice, and tokens. You start the game with 3 henchman cards in hand – every high-ranking clan member must have aides to solve problems. And you can't do without them, by the way: at the beginning of the round, the first player reveals one card from the problem deck and places it face up in front of them. It is sure to interfere with your plans, so it's better to deal with it quickly...

On your turn, you can recruit henchmen to strengthen your group: take from the clan deck 1 to 2 cards (there is no limit on the number of cards in hand). Or you can interact with challenges to overcome them – which, by the way, is the main action in the game. Challenges are on the scenario board, as well as on the problem cards in front of you and other players. To overcome them, you need to roll a certain number of successes on the dice, but first, you need to play 1-2 henchman cards from your hand and determine the number of dice available to you. It's unlikely you will send someone who has only ever stolen cars to a shootout, right? Each clan member has their specialization: if it perfectly matches that indicated on the challenge, you will get 3 dice for that card, and if only the sphere matches, then 2 dice. Otherwise, the henchman will give you only 1 die. During the challenge, clan members can be injured and even completely taken out of action. Such is the dangerous job you have.

When the conditions of the scenario are met, you can recruit stronger supporters into the clan – henchmen of levels 2 and 3. They have more powerful abilities and possess more than one specialization, making them versatile and very valuable guys.

At any moment of any scenario, the police can gather enough evidence against you and throw you behind bars: as soon as there are 5 cards with a fingerprint on the table, you lose.

Who won?

Since all players at the table are members of the same clan, they win and lose together. Victory in the game is achieved only after successfully completing the third scenario, but if you lose in the elections in it, or at any moment you are arrested by the police, the game ends for you. You are no longer legends of this gangster city.
