Politics as a Calling and Profession

Max Weber is one of the greatest political thinkers of the last century. He actively participated in the political life of Germany in the first quarter of the 20th century, standing out as a vivid publicist and author of a number of profound studies on European politics. Weber became famous primarily for his fundamental works in which he proposed a systematization of sociological concepts, particularly the central concepts of power and domination. This edition, compiled by Doctor of Sociological Sciences Alexander Philipov, includes the works "Politics as a Calling and Profession" and "Basic Sociological Concepts." The texts present theoretical and methodological work with the conceptual apparatus, a relevant analysis of party-political life, and a broad historical-critical study of the evolution of the political profession in the West in modern times - the era of "rational bureaucracy" and charismatic leaders.
