Notes of the Institute Girl. Princess Dzhavakha

In her time, the books of Lydia Alexeyevna Charskaya (born Voronova) could compete in popularity with the publications of poets of the Silver Age. The future writer studied at the Pavlov Institute of Noble Maidens in St. Petersburg. Based on her own diary, which Charskaya kept during her studies, she wrote her first novella — "Notes of the Institute Girl" (1901). In the novella "Princess Dzhavakha" (1903), the backstory of one of the heroines from "Notes of the Institute Girl" is told: the proud Georgian princess Nina Dzhavakha was raised in the Caucasus as future warriors are, but then found herself in the cold and gloomy St. Petersburg.
