Arthur Weigall, a famous English Egyptologist, traces the history of Ancient Egypt during the reign of the pharaohs—dynasties—in his book. Relying on data obtained from the reconstruction of the inscription on the Palermo Stone and the deciphering of the Turin Papyrus, Weigall constructs a new chronology of the events of the described period. Based on the artifacts of material culture and the preserved texts, Weigall provides insight into the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of the Egyptians. Of particular interest is the inclusion in this work of the oldest literary piece—the "Tale of Sinuhe," which takes place during the reign of the pharaohs of the Amenemhat and Senusert dynasties.
