Belgrade
Nadia Alexeeva (1988) — a prose writer, playwright, and "lawless comet in the circle of calculated stars": her debut novel "Midnight Woman", set in Valaam, made it to the finals of the "Big Book", "Yasnaya Polyana", "Lyceum", and MHT awards.
In... her second novel, modern Belgrade intertwines with the cozy old Yalta of the early 20th century, the Melikhovo estate, and hot Ceylon…
Young writer Anya is forced to emigrate to Belgrade with her husband — cold, empty, unwelcoming — she tries to settle in a foreign city, understand her marriage, and longs for Russian snow.
Not long before her departure, she finished a novel about the love and non-love between Chekhov and Olga Knipper — and unexpectedly, Chekhov's plots begin to echo her own biography
