Pagan Worship of the Ancient Slavs

This book is a reissue of the work "Studies on the Pagan Worship of the Ancient Slavs" by the famous philologist-slavist, academician Izmail Ivanovich Sreznevsky (1812–1880), published in St. Petersburg in 1848. The book examines a wide range of topics: shrines and worship rituals, priests, prayers, sacrifices, divinations, religious feasts and games, places of worship for water and fire, as well as the structure of settlements and fortresses. In his presentation, I.I. Sreznevsky relies on the works of ancient and modern historians, supporting his thoughts and conclusions with references to sources of information.
