A set of two autobiographical books by Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya — daughter of the great Soviet poet Robert Rozhdestvensky. In the first book "Shury-mury on Kalininskiy", the main character, grandmother Lida, falls in love with a young and talented photojournalist from... "Izvestia", which does not surprise either her friends or relatives. From this event, the consequences of which no one could have predicted, a web of amorous passions and the Cannes festival, Soviet scarcity and the Jewish question, rebellious speculators and a terrible crime intertwine.
The story of the second book "Ghosts of the House on Gorky" revolves around an apartment on the fourth floor where the Kreshchenskikh family lived. A mysterious murder that occurred in the apartment long before the new tenants moved in somehow mysteriously affected them. In addition to the spirits, the house on Gorky had a "pleasant human presence": famous neighbors – Bondarchuk, Efremov, Basov, and many other actors, directors, physicists, and other talents.
The novels about the adventures of grandmother Lida tell the reader a vibrant and eventful family life, which included books, love, study, marriage, and great tragedy.
