Forewords

One of the tasks of this publication is to introduce the Russian-speaking reader to the diversity and breadth of the interests of Rabbi Moses ben Maimon (Maimonides) through the genre of forewords. The collection includes his forewords from the Commentary... on the Mishnah, which can provide a certain understanding of this work, despite the fact that the Commentary itself "remains offstage." In addition, two short forewords by Maimonides related to Hippocrates' "Aphorisms" are presented. We hope this book will enhance the reader's understanding of the work of the greatest Jewish authority of the Middle Ages.
