Jey wakes up alone in a village devastated by drought. There are no living souls, but creatures that have taken the form of her relatives and neighbors roam the streets. She remembers nothing, except that her father asked her to wait before leaving. But memories return, and the girl realizes that something terrible happened in the village. Something connected to her family's past.

To unravel everything, Jey will confront the forbidden forest, eerie "fairies," and her own nightmares.
