Domostroy. The Honest Mirror of Youth

«Domostroy» and «The Honest Mirror of Youth» — the two most famous etiquette and household texts in the history of Russian literature, containing advice for all occasions: what the relationships between parents and children should be like, how to behave in church, how to receive guests, how to properly conduct oneself at the table, how to treat servants, etc. These textbooks of life wisdom invariably provoke reader interest. «Domostroy», created in the 16th century, became a symbol of old Muscovy; «The Honest Mirror of Youth» (18th century) depicts the social and domestic life of a person in the new, Petrine Russia.
