Ken Kesey was recognized as a highly talented writer, and the novel became one of the main works for the beatniks and hippies. "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is a raw and devastatingly honest depiction of the boundaries between sanity and insanity. Based on the novel, a film of the same name was made (dir. Miloš Forman, 1975), which conquered the whole world and won five Oscars. Additionally, many performances have been staged in different countries, including Russia.
