Lords. The Birth of Russia

«Lords» transports players back a thousand years to the period of feudal fragmentation in Russia. Each participant in the game holds their own estate and contributes to its prosperity in various ways. The development of cities and participation in historical events bring players glory points, which determine the winner. 

In «Lords», there are five types of cards: cities, buildings, events, chronicles, and troops. Cities are the foundation of princely dominion: it is they and the buildings erected within them that provide the lion's share of glory points. Events represent various incidents: you can burn all the buildings in an opponent's city, entice an enemy army to your side, or sabotage cards from the opponent's hand. Troops are necessary for capturing enemy cities and for using certain chronicles and event cards. Chronicles, once played, remain until the end of the game. They can bring or take away glory points, strengthen your troops, or give you advantages during the game. The special chronicle «Tatar Invasion» allows players to end the game early at a favorable moment for them. 

Despite the simple game mechanics, «Lords» is a flexible and balanced game. Players can adopt different strategies and change their behavior depending on the situation. Avoiding excessive immersion in historical details, «Lords» conveys the atmosphere of feudal fragmentation, with its constant strife, fleeting alliances, and chaotic transfer of estates from hand to hand.
This edition is the third, but the first published by our publishing house. The edition has been refined with corrections from previous print runs.
